| Little Jon, aka Jon Dickinson |
Jon has always been drawn to fire, and they have been friends since early in his childhood. They have had their disagreements over the years, but have always been able to work them out. Many lessons have been learned. Still, with fire, he'll try anything his insane imagination will cook up. Jon has been spinning poi since June of 2001, when a friend brought poi over to his house and let Jon light them up. He's been hooked ever since. Jon will make and spin anything he can wrap with Kevlar and light on fire. He is constantly trying to overcome his own limits. "If he only had two more arms"... or so he says. Jon can never get enough FIRE. |

Juicy, aka Laura, was born and raised in the Bay Area. For one month she constantly brutalized herself with practice poi but it paid off. Under a full moon she ignited her inner fire for the first time and has yet to quell the inferno. Laura and fire find themselves inextricably intertwined in more ways than one ;-). Even as a child she seemed drawn to it. She loved playing with it and just watching it burn. Laura used to get in trouble for playing with fire in the house. Her parents hung a sign to remind her not to play with fire in the house and she promptly set fire to the sign! That was the beginning point to their beautiful, everlasting relationship.

| Dr. Science, aka Craig Smith |
Dr. Science knows Chemical Reactions and Combustion from working in one of the world's leading Combustion Research Facilities. He brings his love of combustion to his fire arts, spinning poi, double and quad poi, single and dual staff, ropes, and just about anything else that will ignite. Although Dr. Science loves to light up and burn, spinning fire also serves as a healing art, incorporating elements of Ashtanga Yoga, meditation and deep breathing. He's even used some fire spinning moves as physical therapy to self-treat osteoarthritis. A playa regular, Dr. Science is constantly on the prowl for the best natural venues in which to spin - from ocean beaches to Arizona canyons to 12,000 ft. elevations in the Colorado Rockies. With two hands full of FIRE, how close to nature can you get!!

Garth Thompson |
Garth has come a long way from the ranch in Wyoming where he grew up. It was at Burning Man that he first became interested in fire spinning. After watching for several years he started spinning staff and then tried poi out of mild curiosity. Garth was surprised at how entertaining he found poi and it quickly became is favorite fire toy. These days he spins poi, snakes, staff, and various ropes. His background in Aikido, Chang Quan and Tai Chi Chuan shows through in his movements and energy. He finds fire spinning very relaxing and peaceful. It lends itself to being in the moment and nicely blends mind, body and spirit... plus it involves large amounts of fire.

Atomica, aka Sarah Nelson |
Atomica smashes atoms together by day to make modern elements, and plays with the primitive element of fire by night! Growing up in wildfire-ravaged Southern California, she learned an appreciation of fire's power but it also sparked her curiosity. As a teenager she could be commonly found at the beach on Friday nights, burning random things in bonfires to watch the show. Her first exposure to fire spinning was the summer of 2003 on a boat trip, where on a dock one night fire dancers brought out poi and began to spin. This intrigued her, and in early 2005 she began spinning fire staff and in the summer expanded to jump ropes and poi, happily performing for the Man at her first Burning Man festival. She is eagerly expanding her skills and is drawing on her previous experience with ballet, jazz, modern dance, and colorguard skills to augment her style.
